VCU MegaHack

What is MegaHack?

MegaHack is a 24-hour sprint of intense innovation and problem-solving for innovative developers and makers to meet challenges provided by sponsors. Participants address challenges through teamwork, solution ideation, programming, rapid prototyping, developing flow processes, and more.

What we made.

Floret aims to take data collected by large corporations and display meaningful ways it can be used. Then it aims to help you wrangle your data into a place where it is no longer winding up in the wrong hands. We used Figma for the App design, and then a proof of concept Python program that can take your data and plot it so you can see what the advertisers can see.

With these ideas in mind, we put together business and marketing plans in preparation for our presentation to a panel of judges. These judges ranged from VCU's own professors to Vice Presidents of corporations. It was our job to impress and show what we have could change lives.

Our Success.

We won VCU MegaHack's Best Smart Tech Hack. It was a great journey that provided a ton of insight into the solution ideation, programming, rapid prototyping and development processes. With this success came a cash prize as well being approached by mentors looking to turn Floret into an actual product that will change the lives of many.
